On behalf of the batch reunion comm, we thank all those who have turned up for the batch reunion yesterday and we hope that u have enjoyed yourself catching up with old friends and left some valuable memories behind in the new school campus. As the name Ab Ovo goes, this is the beginning of all reunions and we look forward to future gatherings with you.

1) there is no more handball

2) the entire event starts at 5pm and ends at 10pm so be at New RJC, Parade Square at 5pm!

3) the dress code for the event is CASUAL, but do dress appropriately:)

Due to popular demand, there will be another ticketing exercise at wisma macs from 12 to 6 pm! Please do get your tickets by 4th june if u intend to go at all because we will be placing orders for the food and souvenirs on 5th june. U can still purchase tix after 4th june but u never know how much extras (esp for souvenirs) we have ordered. So if u buy late n we run out of souvenirs (which is a cool mug designed specially for ab ovo) n we cant order more from the supplier, then TOO BAD. u haf only yurself to blame! haha yeah so get your tix by 4th june either through regional agents or at wisma macs from yur frenly batch reunion comm members.

a) all tickets are now going at $9 cos like we said earlier, the price hike was only to encourage you guys to buy tickets fast, but after much deliberation, we've decided that the draw of the reunion itself is already enough motivation to buy tix so yea all tickets going at $9! get yours on the 4th of June or via regional agents.

b) everyone should be getting a call about the reunion soon as part of our efforts to reach out to everyone to make sure that the entire batch hears about it as far as possible. this privilege unfortunately does not apply to those currently in US, UK, Aus, China, Canada... but only becos calling cards don't drop from the sky. otherwise, we would love to call you guys trust us:)

hey everyone! to those who've survived first year exams and are revelling in holiday bliss, happy partying! to those still struggling through the books, hang in there:) and guys in ns, it'll be over in 2006!

yea ok let's cut out the intro cos i frankly just wanna sleep now but being the extremely slack pubs head that i have been thus far, i better do sth for my karma and get some work done haha. the pubs team comprising (theoretically) jianan, yuchong, calvin and alex has been using too much "eye power" and the ppl really working are perhaps only jianan and yuchong. so kudos to you two. the rest of us have been occupied with other things i guess. but now that zl has handed me the "do sth or you die!" mandate, we're revving up our engines and soon all of you will hear from us (hopefully).

k first things first. basically all of you should know that the ticketing drive is underway. buy tickets from your (i quote) "regional agents" (sounds damn pro). so of cos, who are the regional agents? well if you're in singapore, i'm sure you can find someone you know who sells. overseas, hmmm, i think you could just get someone in sing to buy for you? or like order via good ol' msn from anyone of us whom you know. that said, to be professional, i will find out exactly who our sistic agents are and post again.

pls buy tickets now because mainly, the comm. is very poor, we are a non-profitable charity relying solely on public donations so if you want to see batch reunion materialise, buy tickets now.

and in response to questions from all over, pls read the FAQs below.

1) Why oh why are the tickets so expensive?! Why must we pay to get into our school?! Eh, why so commercialised, you think you're organinsing club party ah?!

we say: the price of the tickets is rock-bottom already, considering the things that we have to cater for. the 10-course buffet dinner is at least $7 per person and plus, everyone gets a souvenir which costs $2.25. so if you took math, you are paying 25 cents less than cost price.

2) still???? damn ex, can't we not have buffet?

we say: can't please everyone. besides in the spirit of being singaporean, have you honestly met a party that didn't have food? so yea, food for you to nibble on while you catch up with your classmate, cca mate, lecture mate... if you really wanna get back your money's worth just pile on the calories that night k?

3) Are you sure you guys are not lining your pockets not? How do we know this is not some excuse for so-and-so to get rich?

we say: trust us, we will keep accounting absolutely transparent. david's finance head and surely you guys trust good ol' dave? anyhow, to prevent malicious maligning, i'll ask dave to er, keep a spreadsheet? haha just somehow account for everything and keep us all informed right down to the last penny aiight?

4) what if there's leftover?

we say: then we donate to rj:) and the next question is, SURE NOT? yes yes yes, at most we'll do a cheque presentation ceremony and give it to mr hodge that day k?

5) why must increase the price to $12 for "buy in june" tickets?

we say: this is really just to encourage everyone to buy early. as we all know, money makes the world go round. we need to book the caterers, order the souvenirs... etc. plus don't forget minimal decor and stuff. yes so just buy now so everything can get moving k?

finally, zl just wants to clarify that this is strictly non-profit. it's meant to be a fun affair, an opportunity for us to meet all the ppl we know/ are acquainted with, those ppl we recognise by face, say hi along the corridors but don't know well enough to call out for a cuppa. just to reminisce and catch up. and ultimately, it's a batch thing, it can't happen without everyone turning up and being interested in it. so let's all look forward to the 25th of june when we'll see one another again:) and for now, buy tickets!

i was thinking itll be kinda sad for this blog to die after the reunion's over. so maybe we should make it er...sustainable somehow. like, have the tagboards n chatterboxes so that people can continue talking. or maybe set up links to people's blogs. bascially be some kind of communication center for our batch? i dunno. its fun reading the tagboard
