Due to popular demand, there will be another ticketing exercise at wisma macs from 12 to 6 pm! Please do get your tickets by 4th june if u intend to go at all because we will be placing orders for the food and souvenirs on 5th june. U can still purchase tix after 4th june but u never know how much extras (esp for souvenirs) we have ordered. So if u buy late n we run out of souvenirs (which is a cool mug designed specially for ab ovo) n we cant order more from the supplier, then TOO BAD. u haf only yurself to blame! haha yeah so get your tix by 4th june either through regional agents or at wisma macs from yur frenly batch reunion comm members.

a) all tickets are now going at $9 cos like we said earlier, the price hike was only to encourage you guys to buy tickets fast, but after much deliberation, we've decided that the draw of the reunion itself is already enough motivation to buy tix so yea all tickets going at $9! get yours on the 4th of June or via regional agents.

b) everyone should be getting a call about the reunion soon as part of our efforts to reach out to everyone to make sure that the entire batch hears about it as far as possible. this privilege unfortunately does not apply to those currently in US, UK, Aus, China, Canada... but only becos calling cards don't drop from the sky. otherwise, we would love to call you guys trust us:)

hey everyone! to those who've survived first year exams and are revelling in holiday bliss, happy partying! to those still struggling through the books, hang in there:) and guys in ns, it'll be over in 2006!

yea ok let's cut out the intro cos i frankly just wanna sleep now but being the extremely slack pubs head that i have been thus far, i better do sth for my karma and get some work done haha. the pubs team comprising (theoretically) jianan, yuchong, calvin and alex has been using too much "eye power" and the ppl really working are perhaps only jianan and yuchong. so kudos to you two. the rest of us have been occupied with other things i guess. but now that zl has handed me the "do sth or you die!" mandate, we're revving up our engines and soon all of you will hear from us (hopefully).

k first things first. basically all of you should know that the ticketing drive is underway. buy tickets from your (i quote) "regional agents" (sounds damn pro). so of cos, who are the regional agents? well if you're in singapore, i'm sure you can find someone you know who sells. overseas, hmmm, i think you could just get someone in sing to buy for you? or like order via good ol' msn from anyone of us whom you know. that said, to be professional, i will find out exactly who our sistic agents are and post again.

pls buy tickets now because mainly, the comm. is very poor, we are a non-profitable charity relying solely on public donations so if you want to see batch reunion materialise, buy tickets now.

and in response to questions from all over, pls read the FAQs below.

1) Why oh why are the tickets so expensive?! Why must we pay to get into our school?! Eh, why so commercialised, you think you're organinsing club party ah?!

we say: the price of the tickets is rock-bottom already, considering the things that we have to cater for. the 10-course buffet dinner is at least $7 per person and plus, everyone gets a souvenir which costs $2.25. so if you took math, you are paying 25 cents less than cost price.

2) still???? damn ex, can't we not have buffet?

we say: can't please everyone. besides in the spirit of being singaporean, have you honestly met a party that didn't have food? so yea, food for you to nibble on while you catch up with your classmate, cca mate, lecture mate... if you really wanna get back your money's worth just pile on the calories that night k?

3) Are you sure you guys are not lining your pockets not? How do we know this is not some excuse for so-and-so to get rich?

we say: trust us, we will keep accounting absolutely transparent. david's finance head and surely you guys trust good ol' dave? anyhow, to prevent malicious maligning, i'll ask dave to er, keep a spreadsheet? haha just somehow account for everything and keep us all informed right down to the last penny aiight?

4) what if there's leftover?

we say: then we donate to rj:) and the next question is, SURE NOT? yes yes yes, at most we'll do a cheque presentation ceremony and give it to mr hodge that day k?

5) why must increase the price to $12 for "buy in june" tickets?

we say: this is really just to encourage everyone to buy early. as we all know, money makes the world go round. we need to book the caterers, order the souvenirs... etc. plus don't forget minimal decor and stuff. yes so just buy now so everything can get moving k?

finally, zl just wants to clarify that this is strictly non-profit. it's meant to be a fun affair, an opportunity for us to meet all the ppl we know/ are acquainted with, those ppl we recognise by face, say hi along the corridors but don't know well enough to call out for a cuppa. just to reminisce and catch up. and ultimately, it's a batch thing, it can't happen without everyone turning up and being interested in it. so let's all look forward to the 25th of june when we'll see one another again:) and for now, buy tickets!

Just to clarify,
the reason behind the price discrimination(9 bucks before june n 12 after june) is to encourage u guys to purchase tickets before june. In fact it is our wish for all of u to buy tickets before june so that no one will end up buying the 12 bucks ticket. As i have said before, nothing can be done without money. The dinner, the memoirs, the loan of equipment and many others have to be paid for way before 25th june.

Our comm is a totally non profitable one. All profits(if there is any) will go to the school as a donation from our batch. We have nothing but our integrity to vouch for it.

Hey peeps,

If u find purchasing tix through the email or regional agent methods too inconvenient for you, here's an alternative for you! We will be setting up a ticket "booth" in town. Of course, there won't be a real physical booth, instead we will have batch reunion comm members to stay at a particular location for a period of time on 1st May for you to approach to buy tix.

rough outline of program

hey all.

after a meeting with the program comm, we've come up with some of the rough things that you'd expect in the reunion:

1. sports and games. mixed, and interclass/inter-fac etc.
2. photo taking sessions with class/ccas/groups of friends.
3. buffet dinner and catch up session
4. lucky draw and other games (tau huay eating etc.)
5. gallery showcasing the different countries, for people to put up their contacts/photos/updates on what they are doing

as you can see, the day will be run in a free and easy style, that will allow numerous opportunities for you to catch up with who you want, when you want. we just want you to have fun and remember the good ol' rj days!

the event would probably last half a day, stretching from early afternoon to perhaps 9-10pm. more updates on the proper schedule will be up soon, and items above are subject to change. input for this is greatly appreciated as well.

Hey all!

Dave n i went down to new rj one fine afternoon to speak to mrs yik( a.k.a ms lim) abt using the new rj for the batch reunion. She's extremely supportive of the plan n assured us that the sch will help in anyway possible because this is in tune with the sch's recent drive to encourage support of the alumni for the sch after the shift. They r worried bt losing their support with the change in campus. Haha so we are actually doing them a favour. They are hoping that with our batch reunion, it will lead to a series of future batch reunions in the new rj(to bring the alumni to the new sch) either by our seniors or future generations.

We will most likely be using the MPH(air con) or the Amphitheatre (non air con but definitely a much central location), depending on what the programmes comm is gona plan for us. N yes, we need suggestions for the programme of the day. Tell us what u want to do on a batch reunion. The programmes comm need yur creative juices! Tag or post out yur ideas!

For those old rj supporters, don't fret. we have posted a proposal letter to NUS High(who's nw using our campus) requesting the use of their campus to hold the reunion. We are keeping our options open. Jus in case either one fails, we still have the other.

Oh yes, n regarding the date, to all us n uk ppl, if u haf problems attending the reunion on 25th june, pls make yourself heard like debbie! or vote to show your interest. The polls shows that 25th june is the most popular date compared to the rest of the options, well at least to those who bothers to vote (whom i presume will be those who will turn up for the reunion).

N last but not least, a round of applause to the resource comm(justin,huiwen, yong chuen, vincent, eik feng)! by far the comm that did the most work.they were the ones who had sourced for venues for the batch reunion n the funds we need. Give them a slap on the back when u see them. Haha not saying that the other comms r not working, give them the slaps too!

hey all, after meeting up and discussing with the other comm members as well as feedback from the ppl in uni here and abroad, we have come up with new dates for which to hold our batch reunion. hopefully these dates will accomodate almost everybody: those in the army, local unis, or those coming back during summer/winter breaks.

somehow cldnt tag my message so i'll juz post it...i gotta say i was really pleasantly surprise getting to know abt this batch reunion thing (even this blog actually). i seriously think its a great idea and u guys shld really go ahead with it...dont get demoralised by past batch events that became o team/council events... quite sure we're over that era abt not bothering abt council organized stuff...i guess if u make it a big enough a thing, people would come themselves....maybe get the help of the CT reps/CCA capts to get their ppl too...yupz, i think alot of people wld seriously hope to see this batch reunion thing happen and im quite sure they'll all appreciate the effort by u guys...its always the getting started part which is a toughest...yeah... i personally liked the idea some schools adopt...having a senior night sorta thing? like having a dinner thingy at a hotel...(maybe grand copthrone?) where ppl can eat and walk ard taking photos and catching up sorta thing (similiar to prom but a less formal scale), den after that since quite a number wanna club, we can all juz walk next door to zouk...its big enuff to accomodate us too. yupz. just my 2 cents worth too...

Alright, it's obvious for all to see that the hits are no longer increasing at the astronomical pace it had been when we first publicised the blog. We had 300 hits in just one weekend, and now after a whole week, or is it already 2, we have only seen 400 hits.

I've kinda seen this coming, because initially nobody knew about the blog and stuff, so they would come and at least see it once. After that first time however, it's up to us to make them come back. And come back. And come back. I think we've not done enough to keep them doing that.

We need ideas now. How to make this blog more interesting, what things to throw into the reunion, what polls to add, anything. Whatever you think of, just throw it here at the blog. Write a post, all of you know the user id and password anyway.

We're really trying our best, but sometimes we too have limitations. Be it time, #$!%^@#$^@#%@#^@%^ NS commitments, Uni work, etc etc. Therefore we really need all the help we can get. Anyway, this is going to be a BATCH reunion. Ultimately, whether it is successful or not will depend on ALL of us. Please do throw us any ideas you have, even if it is just a very very vague projection of a picture you painted of the reunion.

Ladies and Gentlemen, let us work together and make the 22nd RJC batch reunion a happening and successful event.

Don't assume. Yes, assume n u will end up like us. We assume that by setting the range of available dates for polls betw late may to june, we can ensure that 90 percent of the batch would be able to make it for the reunion. BUT, for once, we r wrong.. According to one of our helpful n frenly U.S informant a.k.a Debbie, most US students have summer schs inmmediately aft their sch term ends, meaning that a larger part of their may n june will not be available at all. N that also means having to relook at the dates we were planning to hold the reunion.

Its ok, we all learn from mistakes.

The above is a good example of how u guys (whether ur in NUS, NTU, SMU or UK,US,CHINA,CANADA,AUST,MSIA,INDO unis) can help! Tell us when will be the best dates u n yur fellow schmates can make it for the batch reunion by posting a message on this blog or sending an email to zohglun8@gmail.com. or informing any members of the organising comm. do yur part! We wuldnt know whats the situation like in yur campus unless u tell us. We need at least one representative from each sch to inform us!

hi folks,

what's the scale we're looking at here? are we expecting upwards of 200 people? no way a house gathering's going to cut it with that many people. unless someone can offer a 2/3 storey house smack in the middle of nowhere where we can play loud music and no one would care (anyone remember alex's "final fling" party wayyyyyyy back at the end of the 1st 3 months?)

any details about how much the AC people paid to book Hard Rock Cafe and whether they did some sort of ticketing system to recover the costs? hmmm if you're feeling ambitious we could try to take on Equinox haha

Welcome to all you Rafflesians! The fact that ur reading this means we r one step closer to the success of batch reunion 2005! For those who have accidentally chanced upon this blog n wondering what this blog is for, I m here to enlighten u. Just as what the title of the blog says, this blog is for RJC batch of 2002. As you guys should have already found out, we( the organising committee made of our batchmates from all walks of life) are organisng a Batch Reunion Party this year. As such, we will need all your help and attention to make it a big success.

By setting up this blog, we r hoping that all of you can contribute by making suggestions and objections, pledging your services( we will be needing lotsa manpower) or simply just checking out this blog for latest development of the Batch reunion. Having said that, I must emphasis that purpose of this blog is not solely for the organisation of the batch reunion. The main aim is for us to KEEP IN CONTACT!
